2022 AMP Livestock Expo Species Breakout Sessions - Tuesday, April 19th
The AMP Livestock Expo is a platform where AMP students can gain knowledge and experience in actual production agriculture through the raising and exhibiting of a livestock animal. The possibility of raising a livestock project (goats, lambs, rabbits, or swine) is a fantastic way to get hands on skills in agriculture and is one of many ways a student can meet the goal of having a Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) project in the AMP.

The AMP staff will be sharing information about the opportunity to raise and exhibit a livestock animal at the
2022 AMP Livestock Expo (generally known as the JV livestock program) through individual breakout sessions for goats, lambs, rabbits, and swine from 7:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, April 19th in the AMP Complex. Students and parents/guardians will be able to attend two breakout sessions of their choice that evening.

We will post an informational presentation about the AMP Livestock Expo and all necessary documents on the AMP Livestock Expo website in the coming weeks (
https://amplivestockexpo.weebly.com). Students and parents/guardians should view the informational presentation prior to attending the species breakout sessions on April 19th.

If a student is interested in learning more about raising and exhibiting a goat project for the 2023 major shows, Mrs. Leita is hosting an interest meeting for students and their parent/guardian on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 6:00PM in AG120. Safari Club International Scholarship

A scholarship opportunity being provided by the San Antonio Chapter of the Safari Club International, a non-profit serving South Texas for more than 25 years. The chapter's mission is to create opportunities for conservation of natural resources through sponsorship, education, and preservation of our hunting heritage. They accomplish this by providing youth hunts, sponsoring wounded warrior hunts, and providing educational support for the next generation of conservationists with a passion for wildlife management or veterinarian studies by giving scholarships.

The Chapter is offering five (5) $1,000 scholarships to deserving graduating seniors that are pursuing post-secondary studies in majors/careers associated with wildlife management and/or veterinary science. These scholarships have the possibility of being rewarded to a recipient on a multi-year basis.

To be considered for a scholarship, students need to write the chapter's Board of Directors describing who they are, what course work and activities they have been involved with while in high school, what their chosen post-secondary major/career is and how this plan of study might contribute to the chapter's mission (can be found at www.alamosci.org), and provide the name of the post-secondary institution that they have been accepted into and which semester they will begin.

The letter should be addressed and mailed to:
The San Antonio Chapter of SCI
