Howdy AMP families and students, We are now one full week into distance education as we continue to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in our community. If you are not aware, NEISD announced this past week that all campuses will remain closed at a minimum through April 24th. The city of San Antonio and Bexar County have also put in place a Stay Home, Work Safe order which has made us adjust the hours that the James Madison HS campus is open. The new hours for the campus are:
If a student chose the paper packet option for distance education, the paper packets for week 1 should be returned this week and students will be receiving the paper packets for week 2 instruction. Return and distribution will be done at the following days and times:
Also, if a student chose the online distance education option and is in need of a laptop to complete their coursework, the Madison HS campus does have a limited number of laptops that are available to be checked out to students to use for distance education. Laptops are available to be checked out from the campus on Monday (8:00am to 1:00pm), Tuesday (1:00pm to 6:00pm), or by appointment only on Wednesday through Friday. Due to the campuses being closed at this time through April 24th, the AMP and James Madison HS will be having to cancel, postpone, or modify events and gatherings that were to be held over the coming weeks. Please make sure that you are also reading the JMHS Weekly email message the Mr. Zimmerman is sending out every Sunday so that you can stay informed about these changes in regards to Madison HS. Changes for the scheduled activities and events of the AMP will be communicated in the weekly AMP Happenings and our social media platforms.
