Howdy AMP families and students, The following are important events and happenings for the week of May 3rd. Upcoming Events
May JM FFA Booster Club General Meeting - Tuesday, May 4, 2021 The next monthly meeting of the FFA Booster Club will be Tuesday, May 4th at 6:30pm via Zoom. All parents/guardians of AMP students are encouraged to join us online for the Booster Club meeting. 2021 AMP Livestock Expo Virtual Informational Presentation Now Available The virtual presentation for the 2021 AMP Livestock Expo is now available at amplivestockexpo.weebly.com. The AMP Livestock Expo is a platform where AMP students can gain knowledge and experience in actual production agriculture through the raising and exhibiting of a livestock animal. The possibility of raising a livestock project (i.e. - goats, rabbits, sheep, or swine) is a fantastic way to get hands on skills in agriculture and is one of many ways a student can meet the goal of having a Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) project in the AMP. Therefore, it is highly recommended any student interested in raising and exhibiting a livestock project for the 2021 AMP Livestock Expo watch the virtual presentation with their parent/guardian at amplivestockexpo.weebly.com. The deadline to submit the AMP Livestock Expo Commitment Form, Livestock Feeders Contract, and minimum $50 deposit is Friday, May 7th by 4:30PM in the AMP Administration office. 2021 AMP Awards Gala This year's AMP Awards Gala will be held on Tuesday, May 18th at 6:30pm in the AMP Arena. Due to COVID restrictions, the capacity of attendance will be limited and this will be an INVITATION ONLY event. The annual gala is our opportunity to celebrate the many accomplishments that happened over this school year in the AMP and James Madison FFA. To name just a few, students will be recognized for their participation in Leadership Development Events, Career Development Events, Speaking Development Events, and Agriscience Fair. We will also be recognizing our Star Greenhand FFA, Chapter FFA, and Lone Star FFA Degree members along with announcing the winners of our Proficiency and Supervised Agriculture Experience awards. And money... The James Madison FFA Booster Club will be presenting scholarships to deserving graduating Seniors. Again, this will be an INVITATION ONLY event for 2021 and students will begin receiving their invitations the week of May 3rd. The 2021 AMP Awards Gala will be streamed live on our AMP YouTube Channel for everyone to enjoy.
