The chapter's mission is to create opportunities for conservation of natural resources through sponsorship, education, and preservation of our hunting heritage. They accomplish this by providing youth hunts, sponsoring wounded warrior hunts, and providing educational support for the next generation of conservationists with a passion for wildlife management or veterinarian studies by giving scholarships. The Chapter is offering five (5) $1,000 scholarships to deserving graduating seniors that are pursuing post-secondary studies in majors/careers associated with wildlife management and/or veterinary science. These scholarships have the possibility of being rewarded to a recipient on a multi-year basis. To be considered for a scholarship, students need to write the chapter's Board of Directors describing who they are, what course work and activities they have been involved with while in high school, what their chosen post-secondary major/career is and how this plan of study might contribute to the chapter's mission (can be found at www.alamosci.org), and provide the name of the post-secondary institution that they have been accepted into and which semester they will begin. The letter should be addressed and mailed to: The San Antonio Chapter of SCI Board of Directors 11230 West Ave, Suite 3103 San Antonio, TX 78213 If students have questions or need more information, feel free to contact board member, Trae Willoughby, by phone at (210) 219-4979.
