Potential AMP Students
The Agriscience Magnet Program (AMP) on the James Madison High School Campus is available to high school students in the North East Independent School District and surrounding school districts who have an interest in studying the many facets of agriculture science and participating in the FFA youth leadership organization.
The application period for the 2024 - 2025 school year is from October 1, 2023 through February 5, 2024 for current 8th graders. Interested students may submit an application after February 5, 2024, but will only be considered for enrollment as space is available.
The AMP may accept a limited number of enrollments from current 9th or 10th graders by way of transfer from other high schools in North East ISD or surrounding school districts for the 2024-2025 school year, dependent upon availability of space.

- Career interest - career interest will be evaluated through the submitted NEISD Magnet Common Application and the Kuder Navigator Assessment or Career Hunter - Career Interests Test.
- Grades of a "C" average or better in core subjects - core subjects are English, math, science and social studies and evaluated by reviewing the student's transcript.
- Have received approaches, meets, or masters on state assessments.
- Satisfactory attendance of 90% or better.
- Satisfactory conduct without major offenses and/or assignment to alternative educational settings.
Evaluations from the student's current principal, assistant principal, counselor, or special education coordinator may also be used to determine enrollment in the AMP.
STEPS OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS
- Students interested in the AMP must submit the online NEISD Magnet Common Application to begin the process. The online application can be accessed at tinyurl.com/NEISD-Magnet-Application beginning on October 1, 2023.
- After submitting the online NEISD Magnet Common Application, applicants should complete an online career assessment (a college and career planning tool).
- Current NEISD students should complete the Kuder Navigator Assessment. The Kuder Navigator Assessment is comprised of two (7th - 8th grade) or three (9th - 12th grade) individual assessments in the areas of career interests and skills confidence and will take approximately 20 minutes on each area to complete. - Applicants that are not a current NEISD student should complete the Career Hunter - Career Interests Test. Career Interests Test results should be emailed to [email protected] for the applicant to be considered for enrollment. To begin the Career Interests Test, go to https://www.careerhunter.io/tests/interests/take.
- If requests for enrollment exceeds the capacity of the program, students will be notified and put on a waiting list and an invitation for enrollment will be extended to students that meet the program enrollment criteria as space becomes available. NEISD will begin notifying students of acceptance for the 2024-2025 school year on February 22, 2024. Notification will be sent by email.
- Incoming 9th graders accepted into the AMP for the 2024-2025 school year should attend the AMP "Come and See" Stampede on April 16, 2024 at 6:00PM in the AMP Commons.
