Dual Credit/Enrollment Opportunities through the AMP
The AMP is offering for the 2023-2024 school year dual credit opportunities to eligible* freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior students that are enrolled in 8269A Advanced Animal Science, 8278A Floral Design, 8263A Wildlife, Fisheries and Ecology Management, and/or 8275A Horticultural Science courses. This opportunity is made possible through a dual credit agreement that the AMP has with Palo Alto College that can award a student college credit hours while completing the AMP coursework. Successfully completed dual credit courses earn students college credit which may be applied toward an associate's degree and/or may transfer to other colleges and universities.
8269A Advanced Animal Science
This AMP course will allow eligible* students to earn 3 college credit hours in the fall semester for Animal Science and 3 college credit hours in the spring semester for Livestock Evaluation I through Palo Alto College.
8278A Floral Design
This AMP course will allow eligible* students to earn 3 college credit hours in the fall semester for Floral Design and 3 college credit hours in the spring semester for Advanced Floral Design through Palo Alto College.
8263A Wildlife, Fisheries and Ecology Management
This AMP course will allow eligible* students to earn 3 college credit hours in the spring semester for Wildlife Conservation and Management through Palo Alto College.
8275A Horticultural Sciences
This AMP course will allow eligible* students to earn 3 college credit hours in the spring semester for Principles of Horticulture through Palo Alto College.
8280A Agribusiness Management and Marketing
This AMP course will allow students to earn 3 college credit hours in Introduction to Agricultural Economics through Tarleton State University. This is a dual enrollment program and students will have college coursework to complete alongside the AMP coursework. Students must apply and be accepted to Tarleton State University to participate in the dual enrollment program.
*Eligibility
Students must qualify for admission to Alamo Colleges and meet all deadline and Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements. Students must be in the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade in order to apply.
